Campaign intro
You live in the world of Rodimet, much of its history has been lost, but there are tales that once upon a time, demons used to run rampant through this world. Few, if any, remember this. Mostly, it's considered a fairy tale used to scare children "if you're naughty, the demons will come back for you" with the assumption being demons can be summoned by sufficient mischief.
But, it's largely quiet, especially in the town of Loscene. Legends say it was founded by a beautiful woman who defeated an incredible beast using her magical rope and blade. She is revered and honored by the townspeople. In honor of her, they say, the Sanctuary of the Rope was founded. They still practice to this day.
Loscene doesn't see many visitors because of its location; a small island in the midst of the Deonese ocean. Surrounded almost completely by mountains, there are few paths to the beach, making travel difficult. Which brings us to the question of how you got here. What's an adventurer like you doing in Loscene?
However long you've been here, a new guy came to town recently, named Gabriel. He built a castle which sits just outside of town. He claims it's to protect the town from an incoming threat. He's called you to his largely empty castle to discuss it. He promises a reward if you help him, of course.
