Bundate 9/5/25
Binkies (Gags, goofs, other positive notes)
- El beat MGS3 and then Delta came out, so we've been watching them play that and she just flew through the game. Like, that game came out barely a week ago and they've already almost finished. It's been a lot of fun, even if we just watched her do it last week lol
- Even as the world continues to be shittier, I'm going to get queerer and cuter. I will not be stopped.
- Next week, I have exactly one day at Staples!!
- I'm celebrating the wedding of one of my best friends and I'm so excited!!
- Also my CPAP got delivered, so my power will only grow
- oh! when I was in the office last week, I left my copy of Over Sea, Under Stone out on my desk during class. When I cam back, one of my office mate had left a note about how it's one of his favorites! Kind of a neat little moment.
What I've been Playing
- Started up Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown and this game rules. No idea why I didn't start playing it earlier. But it's consumed my brain.
- Wrote about Samurai Warriors II and got the urge to play, so I'm back there again.
What I've been Watching
- Honestly, not much. I feel like I haven't had a lot of time lately to just sit and relax, much less sit and devote time to watching something.
- Not entirely true, I watched Highlander and McMillions while dog-sitting
- I also watched Fit for TV: The Reality of the Biggest Loser. It was decent. They only got one of the personal trainers from the show to come on and while he's entertaining, he sucks. Also funny that he's like "listen, everyone was so fat, this was like, sooooo inspirational!" and like, statistically the rate of obesity has gone UP, so his argument is horseshit (obviously)
- obesity is tricky because it's generally gauged using BMI, which is horse shit, but gee, it's almost like the problem is much deeper than fatties not wanting to exercise, which is definitely what The Biggest Loser would have you believe
What I've been Reading
- Orlando Citizens Defy DeSantis - little bit of good news for ya. DeSantis ordered rainbow crosswalks painted over and the citizens of Orlando said "eat shit." We LOVE to see it, tbh.
- Still cruising through Over Sea, Under Stone.
- Fuck Gavin Newsome - I do not fucking care if he's "trolling" Trump and it's effective. My trans siblings are not fucking acceptable losses and I will fight tooth and nail against this shithead's campaign.
- Our Golden Age of Reading (Online) - pretty neat article. Will probably check out the book they're writing about here, esp. since it's free
- I also like, barreled through four years of Dumbing of Age. It's a good webcomic!
Dissertation stuff
- been sort of slacking a bit lately, but I've also been busy lately! That said, managed to crank out over 1k words this week, so I'll take it. Also, going back to some stuff I've already read
- Outlaws of Medieval Legend by Maurice Keen
- Outlawry in Medieval Literature by Timothy S. Jones
- Working my way through Comic Medievalism by Louise D'arcens
- rounding us out this week "Sean Connery's Star Persona and the Queer Middle Ages" by Tison Pugh, the GOAT (no, seriously, a monster of medievalist scholarly work)
Other general thoughts, etc.
- like I said, I've been busy lately. Moving from the weekend into this week was tough; any of the sailers can tell ya, I was not okay. Feeling better now, though!
- I'm really tired of this country's bullshit. I don't think it's realistic for me to leave for a number of reasons, but damn, I'm still thinking about it
- Some quick updates to my Games of the Years of my Life this week
hey, if ya like what I post, you can toss a few buck here. I don't like shaking the change jar, but it's hard out here, y'all.
